Are Air Jordans Worth it?
Air Jordans are worth the price because they are comfortable, stylish and legendary shoes. Since 1985, Jordans have been the most popular basketball shoe and are huge part of sneaker culture. If you can get a pair of Air Jordans at retail prices, then you are getting a sneaker that is a good value.

History
Air Jordans are a sneaker with a rich history. When you put on a pair of Air Jordans, you are quite literally wearing the most iconic sneaker of all time and a piece of history.
In 1985 basketball legend, Michael Jordan wore the black and red Jordan 1 (Banned 1) which is one of the most famous sneakers of all time. This was the start of the Jordan brand and totally changed the game for celebrity endorsed sneakers.
Throughout Michael Jordan’s career, he wore multiple different styles of Jordans on the court. Today, there are over 37 different styles of Nike Air Jordans.
The legendary history of the Air Jordan sneakers is a major reason why sneakerheads and consumers love Air Jordans.
Unique Collaborations
A big reason why Jordans have remained so relevant is by doing celebrity and brand collaborations. Unfortunately, many collaborations are limited releases which makes them hard to find at retail price.
Since these collaborations are hard to get your hands on, it has created a lot of hype around the sneakers. This has created a resale market where Air Jordans can actually be an investment.
Nike has collaborations with rapper Eminem, Drake and Travis Scott. They also have the Dior Jordan with luxury fashion brand Christian Dior as well as other collaborations with Off-White and even Louis Vuitton.

Since there are over 30 different styles of Jordans, many people have their personal favorites. The cool thing about there being so many different styles of Jordans, is that they are a great way to develop your own personal style.
The Jordan 1s tend to be the most popular, however there are a lot of other styles that look really good as well.
What’s so cool about Jordans is that just because they were designed for the basketball court, it doesn’t mean that they don’t look good off of it.
A pair of Jordans looks great with jeans, joggers shorts or sweatpants. You don’t have to be wearing basketball attire to wear a pair of Air Jordans.

Since Air Jordans were originally intended to be basketball shoes, they are made with good quality materials. A pair of Air Jordans can last for years as long as they’re well taken care of.
The great thing about Air Jordans is that they offer really good traction. This is one of the major differences that I notice when wearing a pair of Air Jordans compared to other sneaker brands.

Even though the original Jordan 1s were in the Chicago Bulls colors, the Air Jordan brand has evolved and created shoes in a variety of colors. Nowadays, you can find pretty much any color of Jordans in a variety of different patters.
Whether if they are for guys or girls, Jordans have a large selection of different colors.
Comfort
If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of shoes, then you can’t go wrong with the Nike Air Jordans. The Nike Air Jordans are super comfortable and can be worn all day long.
It’s no secret that Jordan can cost a lot of money, so it’s important that they are still comfortable shoes. If you get yourself a pair of Jordans, then you know that you have yourself a comfortable pair of sneakers.
Variety of Sizes
Although this doesn’t matter to everyone, a reason why Air Jordans are such good shoes is because they come in a wide variety of sizes.
Many basketball players have very big feet so it’s important that Jordans come in larger sizes. Since Jordans were worn by the greatest NBA player of all time and plenty of other players, they have all the way up to a size 18.
This is a huge positive for those who have big feet and can’t find shoes that fit in their size.
Cons of Air Jordans
Limited Releases
One of the major cons to Air Jordans is the limited releases. Although the celebrity and brand collaborations are cool, it is almost impossible to get your hands on a pair, especially for retail prices.
What really sucks is when you want a pair of Air Jordan shoes and you have to pay the resale price because there is a limited amount of the sneaker.
Sure, releasing a limited amount of pairs builds hype. However it is disappointing when you can’t purchase the pair of Jordans you want for retail prices.
Nike’s Air Jordans are often bought and resold, however they are not the only brand that has dealt with this.
Adidas and Kanye West released the Yeezy Boost 350, which was one of the most sought after sneakers. Due to the limited releases, it took years for the Yeezy Boost to be accessible for those who wanted the shoes.
The issue with limited releases is that it makes it hard for those that actually want to wear the shoe, to get the shoe they want. However, Nike and Adidas keep doing limited releases as it builds hype around their products.
Can Get Creased
One issue with Air Jordans and many other sneakers is that they can get creased. When Air Jordans get creased, they look worn in and it ruins the clean look that they have when they are brand new.
Luckily, many sneakerheads have started to use Crease Protectors which will prevent your Jordans from getting creased. I’ve used these and they’ve prolonged the life of many of my shoes.

Competition
When it comes to shoes, there is nothing like Air Jordans. However, there are some other sneakers that are in the same price range made by Nike’s competitors.
Personally, I think Nike makes the best looking basketball shoes and I love the look of Jordans. However, there are many people who prefer the shoes made by brands like Adidas or Under Armour.
