What’s the Difference Between Nike Blazers and Converse?
The Nike Blazer Mid 77 and Converse Chuck Taylors have some key differences. The look of the Nike Blazers is drastically different from the look of the Converse.
Although they both have timeless styles, the Nike Blazers have a leather upper, whereas the Converse Chuck Taylors are made with a canvas material.
When it comes to the fit, both of these shoes fit very similarly and true to size. These sneakers have a narrower toe box which can make these shoes uncomfortable when new.
However once they are broken in, both of these sneakers are quite comfortable.
When it comes to the durability of these silhouettes, I’ve found the Converse to be more durable. This doesn’t mean that the Nike Blazer won’t last long, it just means that the canvas material on the Converse will last longer.
Both the Nike Blazers and the Converse Chuck 70s are considered to be moderately priced shoes. The Nike Blazers are priced around $90 USD, whereas the Converse Chuck Taylors cost around $70 USD.
Nike Blazers Pros & Cons
If you’re considering getting the Nike Blazers, it’s important to know the pros and cons of the sneaker.

With that being said, here are the pros & Cons of the Nike Blazers:
Here are the pros of the Nike Blazers:
Retro Look
One of the unique things about the Nike Blazers is that they have a retro look. The Nike Blazers were originally released in 1973 and they were designed to be a basketball shoe.
The high top style, rubber sole and foam tongue, give these sneakers a cool retro look.
Ankle Support
If you’re someone who values ankle support in a sneaker, then you will love the Nike Blazer Mid 77s. This pair of high-top sneakers has a snug fit and they’re extremely stylish.
Nike Swoosh
The Nike Dunks, Nike Air Force 1s and Nike Blazers are some of the most popular shoes out right now. If you’re wearing a pair of Nike sneakers, everyone knows they’re Nike by the swoosh.
The Nike swoosh is one of the most iconic logos in fashion. If you want to wear a pair of recognizable sneakers, then check out the Nike Blazers.
The Nike Blazers will be the focal point of your outfit since they’re flashy and very trendy right now.
Nike Blazers Cons
Here are the cons of the Nike Blazers:
Bulky Material
Since the Nike Blazers have a leather upper, the material tends to be on the bulky side. If you’re wearing these shoes with a pair of trousers or jeans, they may get caught on your pants.
If you prefer a shoe with less bulky materials, then you should definitely check out the Converse Chuck Taylors.
Narrow Fit
If you’re someone with wide feet, then the Nike Blazer Mid 77s may be uncomfortable to wear. These shoes have a narrow fit and can become uncomfortable after being worn for long periods of time.
Lack of Flexibility
Since these shoes are made with leather materials, they lack flexibility. On the most part, this isn’t a big deal, however they aren’t the best for physical activity.
If you’re wearing these shoes casually, then this won’t be an issue at all.

With that being said, here are the pros and cons of the Converse:
Converse Pros
Here are the pros of the Converse Chuck Taylors:
Simple and Timeless Look
The Converse Chuck Taylors were originally released in 1917. These shoes have generally kept the same look and they have a timeless style.
The cool thing about the Converse sneakers, is that they never seem to go out of style. These shoes are super versatile and have been a big part of fashion for over 100 years.
Durability
When it comes to durable sneakers, Converse are some of the best ones out there. If you take care of these shoes, they can last for years.
If you’re a student or someone who is going to wear these sneakers a lot, you can expect them to last for a long time.
Flexibility
Due to the Converse Chuck Taylors being made with canvas, these shoes are very flexible. If you value a flexibility in a sneaker, then you will love the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars.
Converse Cons
Here are the cons of the Converse Chuck Taylors:
Canvas Material is Hard to Clean
Although the canvas material is comfortable and stylish, it is hard to clean. If you have a black pair of Converse, this won’t be an issue.
However, if you have a white pair or a lighter pair of Converse, you may have trouble cleaning these sneakers.
Narrow Fit
If you’re someone with wide feet, you may want a different pair of shoes. Generally, the Converse and Nike Blazers have a narrow fit.
These shoes can be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time because of the narrow fit.
Lack of Ankle Support
Although the Converse Chuck Taylors are high top sneakers, they still don’t offer the most amount of ankle support. If you’re someone who values ankle support, you may want to go with the Nike Blazers.
