17 College Bathroom Essentials You’ll Need as a Guy
Shower Caddy
A shower caddy will be the most useful college bathroom essential you can ever have. This will allow you to have all of your shower essentials in the same place for quick and easy transport.
A shower caddy is a muts-have college guys as it is super practical. Being able to keep your shampoo, conditioner, face wash, razors and any other shower essential in the same spot will come in handy.
Shower caddies come in various different styles, colors and sizes. Which one you choose is entirely up to you and depends on how many items you plan on bringing and how you prefer to organize your essentials.
Personally, I like a mesh shower caddy that’s easy to carry and not too bulky.
Toothbrush, Toothpaste and Mouthwash
A toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash are a necessity if you are going away to college. These items are pretty obvious but I decided to include them in case you happen to have forgotten to pack them.
ToothBrush Holder Cover
Along with your toothbrush, you’re going to want to have a toothbrush cover or case, to keep your toothbrush clean. This is especially important if you use a communal bathroom or sink and are sharing a space with other students.
Poo-Pourri Bathroom Spray
Poo-pourri is a product that you spray in the toilet before using the bathroom which will prevent any smells. This product is pretty amazing and is a must when sharing a dorm room or bathroom with other college guys.
I first discovered Poo-pourri when I tried it on a cruise and it actually eliminates bad smells.
Wraparound towel
A wraparound towel is super useful as it is designed to wrap around your body and stay up, compared to a normal towel which can fall easily. The last thing you want is to have your hands full when you are getting out of the shower and for your towel to fall down.
A wraparound towel is a super useful essential, especially if you have a communal bathroom that you share with other students.
Bathrobe
A bathrobe makes getting out of the shower a much more pleasant experience. After drying up if you throw on your bathrobe you will be warm and cozy.
Bathrobes provide more privacy than a towel, they’re great if you have to walk through a hallway to get back to your dorm room. After you’re done showering, wearing a bathrobe is great for chilling around your dorm and being comfortable.
Beard Oil
Beard oil is one of those products I didn’t know I needed until I got it. If you’re a guy with a beard you are going to want to have some sort of beard oil.
Beard oil helps with beard growth, softens and strengthens the beard hair and will give a nice smell to your beard.
Hair brush & Comb
A hair brush & comb is a must have essential if you do your hair. As a guy, it’s good to do you hair before class as you will look well put together and it will give your professor the impression that you take his class seriously.
Doing your hair will also make you look more attractive to college girls.

Hair Paste
If you have long enough hair, you are going to want to use either hair jell or paste. It comes down to preference, but in my experience, using hair paste is easier to get my preferred hairstyle.
If your hair doesn’t stay in place with hair gel or hair paste, using hair spray will do the job. At times I let my hair grow longer and I have to use hair spray to keep my hair in place.
Shampoo, Conditioner and Bar of Soap
Shampoo, conditioner and a bar of soap are shower essentials that will go in your shower caddy. These are very obvious items to bring but this is your reminder to not forget to pack these items!
Trimmer
If you’re a guy that has facial hair or body hair you are going to want to have a trimmer. A trimmer is a super efficient and economic way to trim your body hair.
Personally, I use a trimmer for my beard hair and it allows me to lineup my beard nicely and give my beard a clean look.
Face Wash
Face wash is another item that you are going to want to pack in your shower caddy. Stress, lack of sleep and a poor diet are three things that many college students deal with which can take a toll on your skin.
Face wash and a good skincare routine is super important for college guys. Washing your face regularly with warm water and face wash will reduce the amount of acne for many people.
Shaving Cream
If you like to keep a clean shave, you are going to want to pack some shaving cream. Most people shave in front of a mirror but others shave in the shower. If that’s the case you can pack shaving cream in your shower caddy.
Razors
If you don’t like using a trimmer you are going to want to pack a razor and some razor blades. Razors are great for those who don’t want any facial hair and prefer a clean shave.
Flip Flops or Slides
If you use a communal shower, flip flops are a must. For sanitary reasons you are going to want to wear flip flops or slides in the shower. it’s also easy to walk back to your dorm room in sandals especially after a shower.
The last thing you want to do, is walk back to your dorm barefoot after you just cleaned yourself in the shower!
Nail Clippers
Nail clippers are an essential many people will forget to bring to college. Nail clippers are super important for keeping your nails short and giving you fingers a clean look.
Waterproof speaker
If you like to listen to music in the shower, you are going to want to have a waterproof speaker. Just remember to be mindful of others if you have communal shower.

Many college guys carry a shower caddy. The mesh ones are the best as they do not hold water compared to the old bucket style.
