Essentials can be expensive when you can’t get an item retail, and instead buy it on the reselling market. In 2020, Essentials by Fear of God was the third best selling brand on Stock X (a popular reselling website).
I purchased the black Essentials pull-over hoodie at the end of December in 2020 for $90 from SSENSE. In late 2021 the hoodie is currently reselling for $190 on Stock X. If you are looking to buy something from Essentials, make sure you are on the website when they release their new collection.

Essentials has a really unique fit. Athleisure is often slim fit but Essentials has a looser fit that is different than any other brand right now. The clothing is a big baggy, which typically would look sloppy, but in this case it looks stylish.
When I’m wearing Essentials, people will often ask about my sweater as it looks different from any other brand. The simplicity of the sweater and the word “essentials” is intriguing to people.
It doesn’t fit the same way as a sweater would from H&M or Nike. It has it’s own unique fit which is what makes Essentials so special.
Style
Essentials is a different style from luxury and streetwear brands. The clothing is very simple looking, with neutral colours and very minimal writing. The look of it makes people wonder “what is essentials?”. The style is innovative and a breath of fresh air.

The main reason I love Essentials so much is because of how comfortable their clothing is. Their knit sweater is the most comfortable sweater I’ve ever owned. During lockdown, I would regularly wear my knit sweater around the house as it’s extremely warm and comfortable.

When it comes to quality, Essentials has the best quality products at their price point. For sweaters that retail for only $90 you will be surprised to feel how good the quality is. The sweaters are heavy, they have a weight to them that I’ve never felt in another sweater.
For a sweatshirt that at first glance looks extremely basic, the pull-over hoodie has some little details that I really appreciate.
On the sleeve it says “Fear of God Essentials” which is made with reflective material. If you take a picture with flash on the “Fear of God Essentials” will light up. Another cool detail is on the hood is says “Essentials” on a little rubber tag.
On the knit sweater, the word “Essentials” is knitted into the sweater. Essentials could have been lazy and had rubber lettering on the sweater but knitting “Essentials” into the sweater was a really cool detail.
Trendiness
Essentials is one of the most trendy brands right now. Essentials has been worn by celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Austin Matthews. A large part of the gain in popularity is because of TikTok. In the last year, Essentials became super popular on TikTok which made Essentials a fashion trend.

Essentials can be hard to find as there is a limited supply of their products. If you are interested in purchasing Essentials you can find it on the Ssense website, at Pacsun or online and on Fearofgod.com.

When I first got my pullover I thought it was too big but overtime I started to like it more and more. The big fit makes it look different from other sweater plus it’s way more comfortable.
