These iconic shoes have the red heart on them and they are super recognizable. I own a pair of these shoes and they also get compliments.

Converse launched in 1908 and by 1915, they were producing athletic footwear. By the 1930’s the Chuck Taylor All Star was being worn by basketball players across America.
In the 1980’s and 1990’s. the Chuck Taylor became popular in the music scene. Kurt Cobain, The Rolling Stones and The Ramones all wore Converse sneakers.
Now, Converse are some of the best selling shoes and they are still worn by musicians, athletes and entertainers.
The next time you lace up a pair of Converse sneakers, think about the history of the brand. This makes the shoes so much more special considering they haven’t really changed their look in nearly 100 years.
5 Cons of The Converse Chuck Taylor
Although there are many reasons why Converse are great shoes, it doesn’t mean that they don’t have a few flaws. Here are the cons to the Converse Chuck Taylors:
1. Hard to Clean
Since Converse have Canvas uppers, at times they can be hard to clean. If you get a darker pair, this won’t really be an issue.
However, if you purchase a white pair of Converse, the white canvas can be really hard to keep white and clean. If you want a pair of white shoes, it may be better to go with a different pair, unless you don’t mind getting your Converse dirty.

2. Narrow Fit
Since the shape of Converse shoes is on the thin side, they tend to have a narrow fit. At first, you may find that your Converse are too narrow.
However, as you wear the shoes and break them in, they will become more comfortable and fit better. If you have wide feet, Converse may not be the right shoes for you.
3. Minimalist Design
For over 100 years, classic Chuck Taylors have kept their minimalist design and some people find the minimalist design boring. However, I think the minimalist design is what makes the Converse Chuck Taylors so versatile.
Converse does have other colorways of their sneakers that are more exciting. However, nothing sells better than the white and black pairs of Converse shoes.
If you’re looking for a unique shoe, Converse won’t be the right pair for you. Converse have a basic look, but the basic look is what makes these shoes so iconic.
4. Flat Soles
One of the biggest complaints people have about Converse is the lack of arch support. Since Converse have a flat sole, they will have little to no arch support.
Personally, this doesn’t bother me because I don’t expect Converse sneakers to be the most comfortable shoes in the world.

5. Stiff Fabric
An issue that some people have with Converse sneakers is the thick canvas material used on the upper of the shoe.

Unless you’re planning on wearing these shoes as running shoes, the canvas material will not be a problem for you.
