What do men wear to bed

As a guy who loves to sleep, I have tried many different styles of sleepwear to give me the best rest possible.

Through extensive research and asking guys of all ages what they like to sleep in, I’ve been able to compile a list of best men’s sleepwear options.

What Men Wear to Bed

Men often wear boxers or briefs with or without a t-shirt, sweatpants or a pyjama set to bed. If living in a cool climate, fleece pyjamas are a great choice. In very warm climates cotton sleepwear is the best to keep cool.

In this post, I go over 9 popular sleepwear options for men that are great at home, on vacation or college.

What Do Men Sleep In?

Cotton Pyjamas

Cotton pyjamas are a great option for warmer climates as the material won’t get too hot against your skin. Cotton pyjamas are comfortable for lounging around the house, gaming or resting in bed.

There are so many styles and brands to choose from and these are probably the most common and popular clothing to sleep in.

Fleece Pyjamas

Fleece Pyjamas

Fleece pyjamas are better for colder climates or colder evenings. If you like to be warm when you sleep fleece pyjamas are will be perfect for you. Fleece pyjamas are as warm and cozy as it gets when it comes to sleepwear.

You can go for solid colors or a plaid style, or maybe get both.

Silk Pyjamas

Silk pyjamas aren’t the most common for men but they’re actually really good for your skin. The silk allows for your skin to breathe. Silk is a soft and luxurious material that is extremely comfortable to sleep in.

Silk pyjamas also look classy and expensive. If you have a date over, putting on some silk pyjamas while you make her breakfast is sure to impress.

White Undershirt With Boxers

The white undershirt and boxers is an absolute classic for men. If you like being comfortable, free and warm, boxers and a white undershirt are great to sleep in.

A variation of this sleepwear look is the tank top style.

Boxer Briefs

Boxer briefs is the ideal sleepwear for guys who don’t like being hot when they sleep. If you tend to have trouble sleeping because you’re too hot some simple boxer briefs will solve your problem and really improve your sleep.

Personally, sleeping in boxer briefs is my go to when it comes to sleepwear.

Boxers

Boxers for sleep

For men who prefer the free feeling of boxers this is a great sleepwear option. Just wearing boxers will be as close as you can get too sleeping with nothing on, while still wearing clothes. Boxers are great sleepwear and many guys sleep only wearing boxers.

Sweatpants and T-shirt

If you live in a colder climate or like to be warm when you sleep, sweatpants and a t-shirt will do the job! This combination will keep you warm and cozy and is great for wearing around the house.

Wearing some warmer clothes will make it easier to get out of bed in the morning. Consider a long sleeve shirt for those winter months.

Sweat Shorts

If you’re in a college dorm or have a roommate, you may feel uncomfortable sleeping in underwear. So, in that case, sweat shorts are a great alternative.

Sweat shorts will give a very similar feeling to boxers or boxer briefs and will prevent you from getting too hot. Sweat shorts are also great to wear around the house or apartment. Throw on a t-shirt in the morning and you’re set.

Man wearing pyjamas

Nothing

More guys sleep naked than a lot of people would think – and there’s nothing wrong with that! I know plenty of guys who like that free feeling of sleeping with no pyjamas.

For those who can’t sleep when they’re hot sleeping, sleeping with nothing on at all is the best option. However, if you have a roommate I would definitely recommend considering one of the other options listed above!

Honorable Mention – a Robe

Bathrobe

While this isn’t something to wear to bed, having a comfortable robe is a great addition to your lounge and sleepwear.

Waking up in the morning and putting on a nice warm robe is a perfect way to start your day. It’s also great to have a robe for when you get out of the shower.

If you’re thinking about what you need to bring to college for sleeping, make sure to add a robe to your list.
